Frequently Asked Questions

If my turnout gear is discolored as a result of high heat exposure, should it be taken out of service?

Not Necessarily. The dye stuffs in turnout gear will vaporize around 350 degrees, returning the fabric to its natural color. As long as the integrity of the fabric remains intact, your gear is still good to go.

How often should I calibrate my Gas Detector?

Gas Detector sensors respond better when they are calibrated on a regular basis. If your unit gets little use, it's a good idea to get into the habit of calibrating every other week. Always perform a "Fresh Air Adjustment" prior to use and remember the more you calibrate the longer the sensors will last.
